Just a quick note to kick off my paper crafts blog tonight. I have recently gotten an older set from Unity called "It's Your Day" and it is my new go to set for birthday cards. I recently found a request on the RAK forum over at Splitcoast Stampers for everyone to send birthday cards for a lovely stampers MIL who was turning 90. Well, I couldn't pass up a reason to make a card! While this is not the greatest card I have ever seen (but it was super quick!), I wanted to point out a thing or two about it, so first let's take a little peek...
The stamped images are from Unity. The paper is all from Creative Memories. That little beauty of a base flower? Also from Creative Memories and it's paper so it's on there with a little tape runner - easy peasy (but I did use a CM foam square for some dimension). The thing I really like though is the sparkle. I make my own mists. While it is a little more to get all your initial ingredients, they make a ton of spray over the long term, and since I love a little shimmer on almost everything, I need to be economical! What you will need are some mini-misters, Distress Ink Re-Inkers in the colors of your choice and some PerfectPearls in the white, plain shimmery pearl shade. For one mister full, put one dropper of ink, about 1/8 tsp of PerfectPearls and fill the rest of the way with water. Shake well and voila, mister!! Now for some tips. I didn't measure my Perfect Pearls. I took the little stick on the cap of a pen and used it as a little scoop. The one dropper of ink is a guideline. If you want an intense, deep color add more to your liking! I keep them in several colors and one with no ink for simple shimmer all close at hand on the craft table.
Have a happy weekend,
Kelly
